Graduate Democrats Caucus

One idea at a time

GRADEC is a think tank for Ghana's emerging leaders. We convene graduates, professionals, and thinkers to develop rigorous policy ideas that move the needle on pressing national challenges.

What We Do

Policy Research

We investigate critical issues facing Ghana—from education to governance to economic policy—with intellectual rigor and practical focus.

Public Lectures

We host conversations with thinkers, policymakers, and practitioners. These aren't seminars; they're debates that sharpen ideas.

Member Community

Our members are where the real work happens. We provide the space for thinking partners to collaborate, challenge, and push each other.

About GRADEC

Who We Are

The Graduate Democrats Caucus (GRADEC) is a membership-based organisation dedicated to developing and promoting evidence-based policy ideas for Ghana. We believe that the country's challenges require more than rhetoric—they require rigorous thinking, honest debate, and people willing to do the intellectual work.

Our Conviction

Ghana has talented people. What it lacks is institutional spaces where those people can think together about hard problems. GRADEC exists to fill that gap.

We operate with three principles:

  • Intellectual Integrity: We follow the evidence, not the narrative.
  • Practical Focus: Ideas are only valuable if they can be implemented.
  • Inclusive Rigor: The best thinking happens when diverse perspectives are heard and challenged.

Our Work

GRADEC operates on three fronts:

  • Research: Members collaborate on policy papers that diagnose problems and propose solutions.
  • Engagement: We host public lectures and roundtables that bring thinking into conversation with practice.
  • Advocacy: We share our findings with policymakers, media, and the public.

Everything we do is rooted in evidence and grounded in Ghana's specific context.

Leadership

Our team brings together economists, educators, health professionals, governance experts, and strategists—all committed to rigorous thinking about Ghana's future.
